Dear Holy Cross HS Community,

We are actively monitoring the coronavirus issue and today’s developments around the world and especially here at home. As always, Holy Cross High School continues to follow proper health and safety precautions to ensure the well-being of all our students, faculty and staff and takes direction from the New York State Department of Health and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

The Administration works closely with the school nurse, Mrs. Brandon, who actively receives these updates. Mrs. Brandon is a participant in the School Nurse Education and Clinical Program through Northwell Health and she is attending tomorrow’s seminar on Navigating the Coronavirus, I look forward to her update.

At this time, it is important to listen to facts and not respond to fear. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide further advice and information as it becomes available. The CDC provides regular updates. Please review: Guidelines on COVID-19 and Facts Sheet from CDC COVID-19.

In the meantime, we would remind everyone to follow proper hygiene etiquette during the cold and flu season. This includes proper handwashing with soap and water, covering your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing/sneezing, or coughing/sneezing into the crook of your sleeved arm, and staying home when you are sick.

If you have further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Brandon at 718-886-7250 ext. 515.

Respectfully,
Edward Burns
Principal
