Daily Prayer – Monday, March 30th

Good Morning Holy Cross today is DAY 3 in the cycle.

Today, begins the 5th week of Lent, the last week before Holy Week.
It seems that there is so much left to do, to ask for, to be open to, to surrender, to change. Jesus assures us that he is the “resurrection and the life,”
that if we place our faith in him, we will “never die. This morning’s prayer was inspired by a message shared by Pope Francis to all the faithful last week in response to dealing with the Corona Virus pandemic.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

Dear Lord,
Tonight, before falling asleep, help us to think about when we will return to the street. When we hug again, when all the shopping together will seem like a party. Give us a glimpse of when the coffees will return to the bar, the small talk, the photos close to each other. We think and pray, Lord, when it will be all a memory; but normalcy will seem an unexpected and beautiful gift. When we will love everything that has so far seemed futile to us. Every second will be precious, Lord God; swims at the sea, the sun until late, sunsets, toasts, and laughter. We will go back to laughing together. Strength and courage. Found only in You, Lord.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
