GivingTuesday-Fall Appeal!
Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple but profound notion: offer a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past 14 years it has grown into a global phenomena that inspires millions to give & celebrate generosity. Amidst the frenzied holiday buying season, including an ever-increasing online sales trend, GivingTuesday seeks a pause after the consumer push of Black Friday & CyberMonday. The idea is to shift our mindset from buying to giving. The first U.S. GivingTuesday saw $10 million raised; in 2023 it was $3.1 billion. Always held on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, it is start of the season of generosity. GivingTuesday harnesses the shared power of individuals & communities to reflect on & celebrate the spirit of giving to support good causes.
There is no greater school community whose hearts & minds are focused on giving to others than Holy Cross. Our beloved St. Brother Andre Bessette teaches us that it is not only the great works that bring us closer to God, but also all the little things, done in simplicity & humility, with love & with joy, which are so important to God.
GivingTuesday also serves as a powerful reminder that generosity has the potential to create a ripple effect, inspiring positive change. As we approach this day dedicated to giving back, let’s focus on the impact we can make together by embracing the spirit of philanthropic support. Whether through a small but meaningful gift or a more significant donation, each contribution can shape a brighter, future for our students through needed financial aid support. Join us as we make this & each GivingTuesday a day to remember, right here in our Knights Community. Open your hearts & minds to help us provide the best education possible to our students, making a true difference in their lives.
