What is the total enrollment?

Our enrollment for the 2018-2019 is 700 young men and women.

Is financial aid available to incoming students?

What is the average class size at Holy Cross?

Holy Cross prides itself on our personalized approach to education with a 12:1 student to teacher ratio. Our average class size is 24 students.

What sports teams can students join?

Is there a dress code for students?

Is transportation provided for students that attend Holy Cross?

Students living in NYC receive a MetroCard to use for public transportation. Holy Cross also provides the option of private transportation for students commuting from Western and Southern Queens. Students commuting from Nassau Country are advised to contact their school district; most districts provide busing to Holy Cross if the commute is under 20 miles. Please click here to learn more.

How important is technology in the learning process at Holy Cross?

As part of our 1:1 Chromebook Program, every student receives a personal laptop, which they take with them to college upon graduation.  Students have access to a fast and secure wireless network from anywhere on campus. How can I apply to Holy Cross?

Current 8th graders must complete an online application to Holy Cross High School and register for a diocesan entrance exam to be considered for admissions. Our 9th grade application will be available beginning August 20, 2018. Please click here for more information.

What choices does Holy Cross accept on the TACHS or CHSEE exam?

Holy Cross accepts all 3 choices for admission, however strong preference is given to first choice applicants.

What does Holy Cross look at when a student applies for admissions?

For current 8th graders applying for 9th grade, our Admissions Committee reviews the following items to determine admissions:

  • 6th, 7th, and 8th grade report cards
  • NYS exams / TerraNova results
  • TACHS or CHSEE results
  • Letters of recommendation are required for scholarship and grant consideration

For transfer students, our Admissions Committee reviews the following items to determine admissions:

  • Previous school’s report cards
  • NYS Regents exam results
  • Letters of recommendation are required for scholarship and grant consideration
