Dear Parents/Guardians,

The following letter addresses important information regarding graduation requirements, end of year events for the Class of 2021, and the graduation ceremony. We look forward to celebrating your scholar’s accomplishments! Please review this information as a family. Do not hesitate to contact any member of our Administration if you have any questions.

Senior Conduct: Mr. Tarpey, Mr. Allison, Mrs. Wade-Donohue
Holy Cross expects the Class of 2021 to finish in good disciplinary standing.

  • All of our students are expected to represent the school in a positive way – both inside and outside of the building.
  • Seniors involved in negative disruptive behaviors may forfeit their participation in the graduation ceremonies.
  • We strongly encourage you to discuss the importance of appropriate behavior with your scholar.

Senior Academic Accountability: Mr. Howell

  • Any senior who fails a required course will need to complete summer school before receiving their diploma.
  • Any senior failing two or more subjects may forfeit their participation in the graduation ceremonies.
  • All financial obligations to Holy Cross must be fulfilled in order for a student to attend the graduation ceremony, receive their yearbook or cap and gown.
  • A copy of the senior end of year timeline, which includes important dates for AP and Final Exams, may be found at the end of this document.

Senior Service Requirements: Mr. Brolly

  • This senior class has shown their resilience and commitment to service, despite the challenges of the pandemic. As a result, seniors do not need to complete the full traditional 40 hours of service; however, they are responsible for ensuring that all of their completed service hours are logged in x2vol.
  • Students and Parents: Check the Service Learning Website and myhchs.org email accounts for opportunities and updates.

Senior Guidance Obligations: Mrs. Kelleher

Senior Event Survey: Due Wednesday, April 28, 2021
The Senior class moderators, Mr. McRae & Ms. Tummolo, are conducting a student survey to determine interest in the following Senior events so that they may determine which one to proceed with. The event would take place after graduation, possibly in July:

  • Prom / Senior Dinner / Senior Barbeque

We hope the yearbook signing can take place at the event. The yearbook timeline was intentionally adjusted due to COVID to accommodate the ever changing sports calendar in an effort to include as many sports teams as possible. Our projected yearbook delivery is in July.

We are looking forward to the upcoming installation of the Senior Tribute 2021 on Francis Lewis Boulevard as we honor our graduates.

Yours in Holy Cross,
Edward Burns
