A Message From Guidance

Course Selection: School Year 2019/2020

From Monday, February 4, 2019 through Friday, February 15, 2019, students and their counselors are making course selections for the next school year.  The Holy Cross 2019-2020 Course Catalog can be found on the Holy Cross website under the Academics tab.   Once the selections are made for all students, parents can log into their PowerSchool account and view the courses requested.  Students will not receive their actual schedule until September 2019.

There will be opportunities in May and again in June for students to request changes.  Changes will be granted based on space availability and the student’s qualifications for the class; we charge a $50 fee for course changes.  The last day to request changes is Friday June 21st, 2019.  We do not make changes during the summer or in September.  Please review the course selections with your child and make sure the classes are correct and appropriate.  If you have any questions, please contact your child’s counselor.

Wednesday, February 27th @7pm: Junior College Planning Night

It is mandatory that juniors and their parents attend this very informative evening event.  The topics of discussion will include college search and selection, standardized exams, and NCAA Eligibility.

Book Drive April 4 – 28

The National Honor Society is conducting a book drive to support the organization The Book Fairies (www.thebookfairies.org), which supports literacy programs in the metropolitan area. The drive takes place from April 4- April 28. Donations of new or “gently used” books would be greatly appreciated. The books can be for infants, young children, young adults, and adults. Students can bring their donations to their English class. Donation boxes will also be in the Main Lobby on April 11 during Parent Teacher Student Conferences.
Monetary donations will also be accepted for the purchase of books. These donations can be brought to Mrs. Doepfner, NHS Moderator in Room 313 or the Main Office in an envelope marked “Book Drive”.
Thank you for your support.
