Brother Karl Diemand C.S.C. Library and Media Center Dedication Ceremony

On Wednesday, April 10, 2019, members of the Holy Cross community gathered in the Brother Karl Diemand, CSC, Library and Media Center for the new space’s dedication ceremony. Holy Cross was honored to have Dori and John Gerspach ‘71 in attendance for the evening’s event. John and Dori’s generosity and vision allowed the possibility of the new Media Center to become a reality.

The blessing given by our chaplain Father Frank Schwarz highlighted our school’s illustrious history along with the wisdom of planning and adapting for the future.

The new Media Center creates learning spaces that can be easily reconfigured through the combined use of flexible seating and furniture. Two retractable glass walls allow the space to expand as needed, or allow individual classes to utilize the media center without the need of closing the space to other students. The Maker’s Space and robotics lab allows students to work independently on personal projects and provide secure storage for parts and tools.

Mr. Gerspach ‘71 said “I think about Br. Karl quite often and I’m always thankful for the positive impact that his creative writing class had on my success in college and in business.” Holy Cross and its students are indebted to the generosity of the Gerspach family. Similar to the impact Brother Karl had on the lives of his students, the Gerspach’s gift will have a lasting effect on the lives of these young men and women.

God Bless.
