Asian Culture Club- 1,000 Paper Cranes:

  • The crane has long been a symbol in Asian cultures representing good health, longevity, truth and fidelity. There is a storied history of the thousand paper cranes, and this gesture has been sent to show support for those suffering from illness or diseases. Students created an origami crane (see tutorials here, while logged into your school account), and took two photographs (one of the crane, and one of them holding the crane). The video presentation of our cranes was shared with the children at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children to show them that they are always important to us, even when we can not physically be there with them.

SupportLocal

  • As seen on the numerous commercials on television during these challenging times, local businesses are in need of our help.
  • Ordering delivery or takeout is a simple way to show your support of local restaurants and businesses and help them during this difficult time.
  • Students were asked to take a ‘selfie’ of themself, (with their family if you would like) and their food order from a local restaurant. Pictures can be seen here.

Student Reader for the Daily Prayer & End of the Day Prayer:

  • You will be creating a recording of you sharing the daily prayer with the school community.
  • Five hours of service will be credited for student participants.

  • Students may also send in a video of them describing the various ways they have been helping others in their own homes.
  • Students may be eligible to receive up to ten hours of service credit.
  • In order to receive this amount of service, students must submit a more detailed description of their “At Home Service” in an email to service@myhchs.org
  • All Videos Due by Monday, May 11th.
